To concentrate on the formulation and derivation of mathematical models of continuous dynamical
systems and to analyze their simulation by means of analog and digital computers.

Definition of continuous and discrete systems.
Differential equations and their role in modeling.
Numerical methods, integration algorithms, the CSMP language, error propagation.
Examples of continuous and discrete dynamic processes in physics. environment, urban studies, genetics, engineering and industrial dynamics - Expected Work: Homework and assigned computer programs are designed to give students a feel for the derivation of differential equations describing dynamical phenomena, the evaluation or measurement of parameters, and the methods of computer simulation.
