To prevent Rutgers machines from being used for delivery of Unsolicited Commercial Email (more commonly known as Spam), mail servers at Rutgers are now being configured to refuse to relay messages neither originating nor destined for Rutgers hosts. If you have been using a Rutgers mail server to relay your outgoing mail from a home PC connected through a local ISP (that is, not dialed into Rutgers), Chuck Hedrick's Configuring PC's for Email at Rutgers describes how to set things up.
