We would like to move from applications which send passwords across the net in the clear to ones which encrypt end-to-end traffic. This table describes how we get from here to there.

Is there one for Windows?
Question: Do we need to support ftp at all for ftp:// URLs on machines with web servers? I don't think so. Too bad there's no ftps://hostname// protocol.
