Brief Bio

I am currently a PhD candidate supervised by Prof. Thu D. Nguyen in the Department of Computer Sicence, Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Before I joined Rutgers University, I was admitted as a PhD student, supervised by Professor Murat Demirbas in the Department of Computer Sicence and Engineering of University at Buffalo, SUNY. I transferred to Rutgers University in 2017.

Research

My research interest includes resource management, improving energy efficiency and job scheduling in data centers, machine learning (ML) training job scheduling in GPU clusters. I am particularly interested in applying ML techniques (e.g., deep reinforcement learning) to cluster resource management and job scheduling problems. Besides, my work also involves distributed systems and cloud/edge computing.

Skills

For software development, I primarily use C++ and Python. I can also program with Java, Scala and Go if needed. I know basics of operating system, computer networks, computer architecture and accelerators like GPU.
