We are pleased to share, CS Ph.D., students, Yuwei Jin and Zirui Li have been awarded the 2024 ISCA Distinguished Artifact Award for their paper, “Tetris: A Compilation Framework for VQA Applications in Quantum Computing,” which introduces a novel compilation framework for variational quantum algorithms (VQAs).
VQAs are an exciting class of applications poised to unlock near-term quantum advantage. The Tetris compiler framework slashes the number of two-qubit gates needed for VQA applications when compiled to real quantum hardware, leading to much improved fidelity and performance for compiled circuits. Tetris brings us one step closer to transforming quantum computing from a theoretical curiosity into a technical reality.
