• Kostas Bekris, Abhishek Bhattacharjee, and Swastik Kopparty

The Board of Governors of Rutgers University met yesterday, and voted to promote and award tenure to three faculty members, Prof. Kostas Bekris, Prof. Abhishek Bhattacharjee, and Prof. Swastik Kopparty. Effective July 1st, 2016, they will be promoted to the rank of Associate Professor.

Prof. Kostas Bekris works on designing algorithms for planning and coordinating the motion of robots and physically-realistic virtual agents. His goal is to increase the capabilities, robustness and safety of physical systems, or the physical realism of simulated agents, while aiming for real-time performance. Prof. Abhishek Bhattacharjee works on building high-performance, energy-efficient, and secure computer systems at all scales, e.g., datacenters, mobile, and robotic platforms. His expertise lies at the intersection of hardware architecture and systems software. Learn more from Prof. Bhattacharjee’s page here: http://www.cs.rutgers.edu/~abhib

Prof. Swastik Kopparty is interested in the Theory of Computing, Error-Correcting Codes, Complexity Theory, Combinatorics, Finite Fields, Randomness and Pseudorandomness. Prof. Kopparty has a joint appointment in CS together with the Department of Mathematics. Learn more from Prof. Kopparty’s page here: http://www.math.rutgers.edu/~sk1233

Congratulations to Kostas, Abhishek, and Swastik on their well-deserved promotions!
