Congratulations to Prof. Ahmed Elgammal, who has just been awarded an NSF IIS grant entitled “RI: Medium: Collaborative Research: Write A Classifier: Learning Fine-Grained Visual Classifiers from Text and Images.” This three-year $963,196 grant runs from June 2014-May 2017, and is joint with Prof. Smaranda Muresan of Columbia University. Prof. Elgammal’s share of the grant is $499,988. .
