Congratulations to Prof. Abhishek Bhattacharjee, who has received a $42K Google Faculty Research Award for his proposal, entitled “Efficient Virtual Memory for Emerging Big-Data Workloads.” This project will investigate performance and energy efficient hardware support for virtual memory, particularly in the face of emerging workloads with massive memory footprints, and hardware trends like larger caches, heterogeneity, and scale-out systems.
This grant adds to the impressive list of research grants that Prof. Bhattacharjee has accumulated this year: an NSF CAREER award, a grant from the VMWare Academic Research Program, an NSF XPS grant, and an NSF SHF grant (the last two, together with Prof. Ricardo Bianchini).
