The department is delighted to announce that two papers by faculty members have been selected for inclusion in the “25 years of International Conference on Supercomputing”.
Prof. Apostolos Gerasoulis’ paper, ” PYRROS: static task scheduling and code generation for message passing multiprocessors,” and Prof. Ricardo Bianchini’s paper, “Energy conservation techniques for disk array-based servers,” were both selected to receive this honor. Prof. Gerasoulis authored his paper with Rutgers CS Ph.D. alumnus Tao Yang, who is now a professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, while Prof. Bianchini authored his paper with Ph.D. alumnus Eduardo Pinhiero, who is now a senior staff engineer at Google. The selection committee considered the 100 most cited papers out of approximately 1800 papers published in the ICS proceedings between 1987 and 2011. These two papers were among the 35 papers selected for inclusion in the volume. The volume’s publication is sponsored by ACM SIGARCH, which has been the conference sponsor since its inception, and it will become part of the ACM Digital Library.
Congratulations to Professors Apostolous Gerasoulis and Ricardo Bianchini, as well as their co-authors.
