Congratulations to Andrew Tjang, Sesh Venugopal, Fran Trees, Thu Nguyen and Lars Sorenson (from LCSR) for their success in winning support from Google for their proposal entitled, “Increasing the Scalability and Diversity in the Face of Large Growth in Computer Science Enrollment.” This unrestricted gift to Rutgers from Google, for an amount of $231,000, was awarded effective February 24, 2015 as part of Google’s 3X in 3 years program. The grant initially runs for one year, with an option of support at the same funding level for another two years. Andrew, Sesh and Fran form the core of our department’s instructional staff, Lars from LCSR has been actively working on instructional infrastructure, such as the iLab and the CAVE, and Thu currently serves as our department’s associate chair.
