The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the world’s premier algorithmic programming competition for university students. In ICPC competitions, teams of three students collaborate under time pressure to solve challenging algorithmic problems. This year, 52 top teams from across North America—selected from more than a thousand regional contenders—competed for 19 coveted spots at the World Finals. By finishing 14th, Rutgers earned one of these spots. (Scoreboard: https://nac.icpc.global/scoreboard/2025/)

“Rutgers has qualified for the World Finals three times in the past four years—an impressive achievement that reflects the strong problem-solving culture fostered by the Rutgers University Competitive Programming (RUCP) Club organized by our students,” said Kangning Wang, Assistant Professor of Computer Science and ICPC coach at Rutgers.
