Join us in congratulating the following undergraduate CS students who have been selected for the 2025 SAS Outstanding Service and Leadership Awards

Maksims Kurjanovics Kravchenko received the SAS Outstanding Service Award for his extraordinary contributions to the Rutgers community. He has contributed to the department as a Lead Learning Assistant for the Data Structures course, worked to create/shape the Assignment Guru program, and has been a mentor for many of our students.

Rushd Syed received the SAS Outstanding Service Award for his extraordinary and lasting impact on the Rutgers Computer Science community through four years of tireless service, leadership, and mentorship. From organizing major departmental events and reimagining the CSL space to launching impactful programs like the Project Showcase and Scarlet Labs, Rushd has consistently identified opportunities to strengthen student life and followed through with dedication and creativity. As a Lead Learning Assistant for CS 111, he elevated both student learning and peer support, while his leadership in USACS and HackRU helped grow inclusive, vibrant communities. Universally respected and personally supportive, Rushd leads not for recognition, but out of a genuine desire to make Rutgers a better, more welcoming place for everyone.
