Join us in congratulating the following undergraduate students who have been selected for the Annual CS Departmental Awards - 2025.  These outstanding students have carried out excellent research in addition to excelling in their coursework.  Each recipient receives $1000 and a recognition certificate. 

Alexander Geppert – Hagerty Award
Graduating at age 18 with a perfect 4.0 GPA, Geppert developed real-time robotic hand gesture control systems and was honored by Merck for innovation during his internship.

Jocelyn Chou – Magidson Award
Her thesis explores policy and ethical challenges in modern data privacy, proposing new frameworks for collective data impact.

Nate Blum – Magidson Award
A standout TA and systems researcher, Blum contributed to course development and collaborated internationally on transportation systems research.

Kal Pandit – Novielli Award
Recognized for his work on computer science education, Pandit co-authored a paper presented at SIGCSE 2025.

Joshua Park – Novielli Award
Conducted independent research on personalized LLM agent systems and submitted as first author to a top-tier AI conference.

Ramesh Balaji – Novielli Award
Honored for excellence in teaching, research, and systems engineering, Balaji demonstrated technical and mentoring capabilities at the highest level.
