Job Description: 
The Department of Computer Science at Rutgers University invites applications at all levels for a Teaching Professor position.  This position will primarily involve teaching at the undergraduate level, although depending on experience, can also include teaching in our MS programs.
The appointment will start September 1, 2019, and will be for two years, renewable contingent on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.  Reappointments are typically for multiple years.
We seek candidates with a strong commitment to teaching and student mentoring. Although Rutgers does not offer tenure for this position, the school does offer multi-year contracts and opportunities for promotion and advancement.
Our department offers a highly collegial and collaborative culture, with a range of teaching and curriculum-development opportunities in lower-division and upper-division courses for majors and non-majors. Responsibilities will include: 

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate classes, interviewing and hiring recitation instructors and graders (typically senior undergraduate or MS students), coordinating and supervising recitation sections, creating exams, homework, and programming assignments (possibly in collaboration with other instructors), coordinating and supervising grading, and curriculum development over time.  Teaching in our MS programs is also possible depending on experience.


A PhD in Computer Science or closely related field is required, although candidates with an MS and substantial teaching and/or industry experience in software systems design and implementation are encouraged to apply and will be considered. At least one year of college-level teaching experience in Computer Science is strongly preferred.
