(b) Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor
The Department of Computer Science at Rutgers University invites applications for a 1 year non-tenure-track renewable position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor. The initial appointment will start either Spring 2017 or Fall 2017, and will continue through the end of the 2017-18 academic year, subject to the availability of funds.
Responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate classes, interviewing and hiring recitation instructors and graders (typically senior undergraduate or MS students), coordinating and supervising recitation sections, creating exams, homework, and programming assignments (possibly in collaboration with other instructors), coordinating and supervising grading, and developing/updating course material over time.
Applicants must have the ability to manage large multi-section classes and to coordinate such classes with other instructors. An M.S. in Computer Science or closely related field is required, with a Ph.D. or equivalent preferred. At least one year of college-level teaching experience in Computer Science is strongly preferred.
