Kenneth H. Rosen, Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications, 6th edition, McGraw-Hill (2007).
Requirements:
  1. 1. Homework:  Problem sets will be assigned approximately once per week, to be discussed in the recitations that week.  Homework will not be graded, and you are encouraged to work on the homework problems in small groups.
  2. 2. Quizzes:  There will be unannounced quizzes on a regular basis, usually at the beginning of class.  The questions on the quizzes will be similar to questions you have answered in the homework.  Quizzes will be graded.
  3. 3. Midterm Exam:  There will be one midterm exam on Monday, October 19th.
  4. 4. Final Exam:   There will be a final exam, the date of which is set by the University.

    The allocation of credit for your final grade will be approximately:  quizzes 25%, midterm 25%, final 50%.  (The exact allocation will depend on the number of quizzes, the amount of material covered on the midterm exam, etc.)
