This workshop is a reprise of the highly successful
WSDSM
'99 workshop held last June in Greece that featured two outstanding
invited talks and 18 papers from all over the world. Its declared goal
is to fill a gap in the conference spectrum by offering researchers in
software DSM a forum where they can share their ideas and discuss their
work.
The workshop accepts papers that demonstrate original research in all areas of software DSM research: consistency models, protocol design, compiler support, object-based DSM, hardware support, fault tolerance, DSM applications and performance studies. A special attention will be given to papers that explore new avenues in software DSM: DSM over WAN, non-scientific applications for DSM, DSM with soft real-time constraints.
It is planned to publish extended versions of accepted papers after the workshop in a volume of the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science series.
