Greetings and Salutations to all of you. It's been 2-1/2 years since I retired and needless to say, I do miss working at Rutgers.Well, let me clarify that a little. I miss being so very busy all day working on accounts making telephone calls regarding contracts, etc. but I don't miss having to get up early in the morning, getting dressed to kill, driving to work, working all day and then coming home exhausted at nite. I must say, however that I especially miss the guys that I worked with but I do see them every once and a while. It's also great knowing that I can call them occasionally when I get into trouble with my computer and find out an answer in a moment's notice. Thanks Guys, for that privilege.
My days now are filled with happy chores like playing with crafts, designing custom cards and invitations for friends, working closely with my township, volunteering on the Public Relations Advisory Commission (gave up the chairmanship this year) and serving on the Board of Ethics for Piscataway Township. I've been doing some publicity work for my Church which is certainly rewarding and I've been helping some friends with things they need done on the computer. It's still in my blood....this computer.
When my husband Tom retired back in 1991, he said "I don't know where the days go - I don't have time for anything!" And, he was so right. The days go by swiftly and I don't seem to have enough hours to do all the things I want to do.
I can still be reached by email - thompson@cs.rutgers.edu. Send me mail and I am sure to answer.

Let me introduce you to the LCSR Computing Facility "Crew" - Seated is Chuck Hedrick who was our Director for years. Chuck is now Director of RUCS - NBCS Division. He is still our "#1 fearless" leader. In the first row you will find, JCovalesky, one of our Student Systems Programmers, working with Hanz Makmur, Steve Ledzian, Hanz Makmur, Don Watrous, Leny Struminger, who recently left us to work with Campus Information Center, myself and Rick Thomas, our new "fearless leader" and Associate Director of our group. Second row is Mark Rinehart, and Rob Toth. Third row is Charles McGrew, Vince Sgro, Rick Crispin and our real leader, our secretary, Judy Kopchala. This is probably one of the closest knit groups you will find on campus. We all argue with each other about petty things but when push comes to shove, we close ranks and work endlessly to do whatever it is that needs to be done.
MOTTO TO LIVE BY:
There are seven things that the Lord hates and cannot tolerate: A
proud look; A lying tongue; Hands that kill innocent people; A mind
that thinks up wicked plans; Feet that hurry off to do evil; A witness
who tells one lie after another; And a man who stirs up trouble among
friends. Proverbs 6:16-19
And here's my hubby...

Here's a picture of Christmas 98 when Santa came to visit our house - He looks a little like Tom but, that's because he wasn't in his Santa Suit. He was cheating on Mrs. Claus.
