CS529-Fall '07. CURRENT ANNOUNCEMENTS




1. Sept 6, 2007. Keep on the lookout for news about changes in the meeting schedule for this course.

2. Sept 7, 2007. There will be NO class next Thursday, September 13, 2007. A make-up will take place on Friday, September 14, 2007 in Hill 120 from 5-6:20PM. A make-up for the second missed period will be scheduled at a later time.

3. Sept 14, 2007: Jihui Zhaos office hours will be Wednesdays from 1-3 Room 403. Mine will be Thursdays 2-3:20, plus another hour to be decided.

4. October 3, 2007: To prepare for class you could read Chapter 2 in the Dutch book.

5. October 8, 2007: The first homework is available on the course page. Its due October 15.

6. October 10, 2007: You should make sure you have an up-to-date version of of homework 1 and of the collection of problems, as both have changed recently.

7. October 16, 2007: Despite the Thursday football game and dislocation of Busch parking, there will be class on October 18. Jihui Zhao will discuss
range searching and k-d trees. It is possible the class will end early.

8. November 6, 2007: There will be a makeup class this Friday, November 9, 2007 in Hill 120, from 5:00PM to 6:20PM!!!

9. November 14, 2007: Homework 2 is ready. I am asking you to hand it in by November 20, a Tuesday. Rutgers treats that day as a Thursday, so there will be class. Jihui Zhao will be there to review the argument for ham-sandwich cuts, and to acccept your homeworks.

10. November 28, 2007: There will be an extra class Friday, November 30, 2007 in Hill 120, from 5:00PM to 6:20PM!!

11. December 4, 2007: There will be an extra class Friday, December 7, 2007 in Hill 120, from 5:00PM to 6:20PM!!

12. December 4, 2007: You should choose a project and get your choice approved by me by Friday, December 7, 2007.

13 December 7, 2007: I will make the takehome available Monday, Dec 10, 2007 in the afternoon and ask for solutions within 48 hours. Please dont forget about projects and scheduling the presentation.

14. December 10, 2007: The takehome is now available. Please submit solutions to my office by 4PM this Wednesday, Dec 12.

15. December 12, 2007: There will be an extra class (voluntary) on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007 in Hill 250 from 4-5PM. I will go over the randomized, incremental construction of the Delaunay triangulation.

16. December 19, 2007: Grades have been posted. They are available on-line or, with more detail, on my office door. You can pick up your takehome at my office. Happy holidays.
