198:500 section 02 (Index 11353) Light Seminar in Computer Science
Power, Energy, and Temperature Management in Computer Systems
Time and Location: Wednesdays from 1 to 2pm at CoRE 301 (aka CoRE A)
Instructors: Ricardo Bianchini (ricardob@cs.rutgers.edu) and
Uli Kremer (uli@cs.rutgers.edu)
Term: Fall 2004
Overview
This seminar will cover some of the research topics that are being
addressed by the DARK
and EEL groups. In
particular, we will read, present, and discuss papers on power,
energy, and temperature management in computer systems. Participation
in this seminar will prepare the students to do research that can lead
to essays or theses.
Prerequisites
Students should be highly motivated to read, present, and discuss a
wide selection of research papers.
Expected Work
The workload will be one research paper per week. Besides reading and
discussing all papers, each student will be required to present one or
two papers during the course of the seminar.
