Student Web Programmer
Objective:
Seeking motivated individual wishing to enter the field of web development.

Hours:
Available hours of work are 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday. 10-20 hours of work per week is required during the school semester. 20-40 hours of work per week is available during the holidays and summer.
Wage:
Between $9-14/hr depending on skill set.
Experience and Skills:
Candidates must understand the fundamentals of the web developing, publishing and programming. Knowledge of HTML and CSS required. DOM and Javascript preferred. Must understand the problems of cross browser and cross platform development. CGI experience in PHP, Perl, or similar wanted. Individuals with web developement in a UNIX enviorment will be preferred. Raw HTML editing required. Some skills will be learned on the job. Guided instruction will be given, but the new hire must be able to learn on their own through sources provided. In addition the following skills would be beneficial, but are not required:
  • PHP
  • Javascript
  • DHTML
  • Perl
  • Apache
  • Database interfacing
  • SQL
  • Graphics Design
  • Print Editing or Advertising
  • Any graphics editing tool like Gimp/PhotoShop
  • An understanding of web fonts

College Enrollment:
Preferential treament will be giving to individuals enrolled at Rutgers with one or more years left of education. Yet applicants do NOT need to be enrolled in Rutgers University to apply. If you are enrolled, all grade levels are welcome to apply.
Overview:

The Laboratory for Computer Science Research Computing Facility (LCSR-CF) is currently looking for a Student Web Programmer. This position will be directed in the cleanup, maintenance and development of current and new web pages including their implementation, structure and framework. This is a programmer position intended to develope web applications as well as some simpler web pages. This work is for the benefit of the Division of Computer and Information Sciences (DCIS), which includes the Department of Computer Science (DCS). In the job be prepared to work in a team.
