The Department of Computer Science and the Laboratory for Computer Science Research of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, employs a staff of top-quality research-oriented applications programmers and system/network administrators. This staff works with and supports a top rated faculty working on cutting edge problems covering a wide range of interesting domains.

Research-oriented applications programmers are responsible for developing and maintaining state of the art environments in support of specific research projects. System/network Administrators are responsible for designing and implementing advanced automated tools for large-scale system administration across multiple networks and multiple platforms involving hundreds of machines.

General qualifications include knowledge of UNIX (e.g., Solaris, Linux, and IRIX), Perl, shell programming, C/C++/Java, networking hardware/software, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Experience with Macs, PCs (Windows/9x, Windows NT and Windows/2000), Linux internals, hardware configuration, or other relevant experience is desirable.
