Commercial-grade, could do dogfighting, not yet available to us.
A flight simulator, open source. Sounds cool. Seems to have "autopilot" and network connections for control. Challange could just be to fly at all.
A much more complex strategy game. Open AI interface. Challenging. Might be hard for trial and error learning. Like "civilization".
Doesn't seem to be up anymore.
3d Tank Game classic. Has bots. Opportunity for teamwork, strategy.
Supposedly a very good strategy game. Well known. Includes AI scripting language. Microsoft.
"A very good role-play game". I couldn't quite tell what it was about.
Opens "unreal tournament" to sockets/bots. First person shooter, probably (couldn't find pictures).
Racecar stuff. Some RL/GA work published already. Might make for interesting obstacle avoidance, planning ahead challenges. Can obviously race head to head. Doesn't seem to take input from the camera, but from above. Still, closest to standard RL theory and some opportunties for studying competitive learning.
I did some work with on this. Awkward, but existing, interface for bots
("brains"). Rich game play.
Well studied game. Some great competitors out there and some good
learning work. Hotbed of multiagent work.
Simple but interesting. Large existing RL literature.

Open source snowboarding simulator. I just think snowboarding is a
cool thing to work on. Fits with some other departmental projects,
actually. There's a ton of other
Linux games available, and I could use your feedback on this.
(I'm starting to feel overwhelmed.) I like first-person perspective,
since that's closest to what we might get on a robot.
