The Nature of Adult Speech to Infants

A debate has been raging for hundreds of years. Classical philosophers and ordinary mothers claim that infants learn their native vocabulary by hearing isolated words. Modern developmental psychologists argue that infants must segment multi-word utterances to learn individual words. In this talk, I will present the results of an experimental study conducted to resolve this debate. Who is correct? Come to this talk and find out.
