Professor Casimir A. Kulikowski was named a Rutgers University Board of Governors Professor of Computer Science in November 1997. This award recognizes an outstanding career at the University. Professor Kulikowski has received numerous awards nationally and internationally for his research contributions to the fields of knowledge-based reasoning and pattern recognition in biology and medicine. He has also been recognized for his many contributions to the field of medical informatics, including sevice on professional editorial review boards and national advisory panels and committees. He is the author of two books and more than 80 refereed articles in scientific journals and conference proceedings. He is a Founding Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics and the American Association for Artificial Intelligence, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.
