Self-Healing Systems

Overview
The goal of this seminar is to discuss the fundamental principles,
state of the art and research challenges in
self-healing, self-managing systems.
We will
discuss selected papers
presented at premier systems conferences
in the
last several years, or to be presented in 2004.
Prerequisite
Students should have taken the graduate operating systems course (CS 519) and must
be familiar with basic concepts of computer architecture, networking and
distributed computing.
Expected Work
In addition to the readings and participation in discussions, all students
will be required to:

submit critiques of the papers being discussed each week.

prepare in-class presentations.

complete an individual or group project.
