I have added various comments about the books that I got from the UFO
bibliography that is available on the net. Lots of the books in this
collection were not in that bibliography. Hope this helps people out.

-----
We recently acquired a large UFO collection. Lots of books from the 50s
and 60s, many of them hardcover. It is the largest UFO collection that I
had seen and I once belonged to a UFO club in El Paso (near Roswell, ok
nearer to Soccoro). There were ove 120 books, but some have sold before I
could put this catalog together. If you have questions about any of the
books, please ask. This catalog was a rush job (please excuse the typos)
and I am sure that I missed items.
Shipping costs depend on the amount of books and whether you want air or
surface, but they are reasonable. We take VISA/MC, AMEX, NOVUS/Discover,
checks, money orders, etc.
Take a look and let us hear from you before the Men in Black take them
all away.

Charles Berlitz & William L. Moore
Roswell Incident, Grosset & Dunlap, $30, 1980, 1st ed, hardback
Keith Rowell: The facts about the crash of a saucer in the
summer of 1947 in New Mexico and how the US government
covered it up.
Charles McGrew: Mr. Berlitz is a well-known teller of
tales, including Bermuda Triangle and others.
However, it would appear that at least some of
this is right. ("UFO Crash at Roswell" is
the better book on this.) It has recently
been reissued in papaerback.
Howard Blum
Out There, Simon & Schuster, $15, 1990, hardback, 1st ed
tclark@umaxc.weeg.uiowa.edu (Terry Clark): Mr. Blum mainly
weaves a tale of how he used his "sources" to track
the Pentagon's establishment of a UFO working group.
He pads out a big chunk of the books middle with a
re-telling of the SETI project. Pretty much a
yawn-er, 2 starships on a scale of five.
Keith Rowell: An important book since it is written by a
former NY Times reporter who has written two other
influential books -- one about Nazi intelligence
officers brought to America illegally after WWII and
the other about the Walker spy case. However, Blum's
UFO book was apparently hastily done and, thus,
somewhat of a disappointment in the UFO research
community.
Charles McGrew: very readable book (the above comment about
padding is correct, though the padding makes good
reading anyway, if you're interested in the early
history of the SETI project.) Details Bill
Moore's shenanigans on behalf of AFOSI, and the
story of how the MJ-12 documents came to light
(there may be a veiled punnic reference to its
source, by referring to the source as a "Good
Samaritan" =?= Timothy Good?)

Conroy says yes.

Charles McGrew: The famous collector of "strange-but-true"

this is not ufo-related, but there are some things that
impinge on it.

Robert Emenegger
UFOs, Past, Present & Future, Ballantine, $3, paperback
Keith Rowell: Good general book. Emenegger produced a film
documentary of the same name. The US government
hinted that it would give him some "real" flying
saucer footage for inclusion in his film. This didn't
happen.
Lawrence Fawcett & Barry J. Greenwood
UFO Cover-Up, Prentice-Hall, $10, Original Title: Clear Intent, 1984, trade
paperback
Keith Rowell: Very important book summarizing what ufologists
know from studying the thousands of FOIA-released
government UFO documents. Everything but proof of
crashed flying saucers is here, and it's all from
FOIA-released documents!
Charles McGrew: Well, I wouldn't go that far, but it *does*
make for very informative reading. Fills in a lot
of gaps in what the government has been doing over
the UFO question (as it turns out, a *lot*). Good
narration, good bibliography. This is from CAUS,
(whom Klass has dumped on a lot), and is a fine
bit of investigation.

Timothy Good
Above Top Secret: The Wordwide UFO Cover-Up, Morrow, $25, 1988, hardback, 1st US
Keith Rowell: The most important book about the on-going

very good information. Certainly a "must-read".
Timothy Good
Alien Contact: Top-Secret UFO Files Revealed, Morrow, $15, 1993,
Original Title: Alien Liason, hardback, 1st US
Keith Rowell: A reliable introduction to the wilder tales
circulating in the UFO subculture in the 70s, 80s, and
90s. The bizarre nature of what is known makes a
prudent investigator reluctant to throw out any
information. Some of this will turn out to be true
after it is put through the academic mill in the 1990s
and beyond. Not for the timid or intellectually rigid.

Kevin D. Randle
UFO Casebook, Warner Books, $3, 1989, paperback, 1st ed
Charles McGrew: Chock-full of information about famous UFO
cases from 1947 to the 1989. Some cases are shown to
be non-real, some to be perhaps-real, and some that may
need re-examination. Mr. Randle has done an execllent
job of research, looking into Bluebook files, newpaper
records, interviewing witnesses, and analyzing cases.
If you're just starting out in UFOlogy, this is an
excellent book to "jumpstart" you.
Kevin D. Randle & Doanld R. Schmidt
UFO Crash At Roswell, 1991, Avon, $3
Keith Rowell: The authors don't back down. They say they have
proved beyond a reasonable doubt that a flying saucer
-- not a UFO -- crashed in NM in the summer of 1947.
Get off your duff. Prove them wrong!
Charles McGrew: Not suberbly written, but nevertheless
impelling. Very thorough research.

Report On Unidentified Flying Objects, Doubleday, $30, 1956, hardback,
1st ed w/o later debunking chapters, Sans DJ
Keith Rowell: Written by a former head of the AF's Project
Blue Book public relations UFO effort. "Brand New
Enlarged Edition Latest, Up-to-the-minute Facts on
UFO!" on dust jacket. No indication whatsoever inside
the new edition that it differs from the earlier
edition by the addition of three extra (debunking)
chapters. Without the dust jacket you would never
know there are two distinct editions of this classic
UFO book. Some UFO researchers speculate that the Air
Force/CIA was displeased enough with Ruppelt's pro-UFO
first edition that they made him include the last
three chapters in the "new edition"!

UFO's: A Scietific Debate, Cornell Univ Press, $25, 1975, hardback

debunkers, and honest skeptics have their say here.

Keith Rowell: Bestselling book by previously bestselling
author. It's about his probable abductions.
Charles McGrew: Whitley Strieber has become something of
a anti-UFO in later years; he has ceased publication
of his Communion Newsletter and called UFO researchers
in general "crazy" and "nasty". Note that Strieber
makes his living writing horror novels (notably "Wolfen".)

Jacques Vallee

hardback, 1st ed, Whitley Streiber Foreward
Kevin Rowell: The best statement of Vallee's thesis -- UFOs

system.
Jacques Vallee
UFO Chronicles Of The Soviet Union, Ballantine, $20, 1992, hardback, 1st ed
Kevin Rowell: Vallee turns away from excessive American
ufologist bashing to give us a reasonable rundown on
the latest in Russian UFOs and ufology. It's been as
bad over there as it has been elsewhere. The aliens
seem to be equal opportunity abusers the world over.
