Undergraduate Advising Committee
Undergraduate majors in Computer Science are not assigned
to a permanent advisor. Instead, there is a committee of
professors to whom students are encouraged to come to seek
advice. It is important that students consult with the
advisors regularly to make sure that they
are making progress toward satisfying the departmental degree
requirements, and also to see if their course selection is
consistent with their carreer goals. (Some courses are
especially recommended for students contemplating graduate
school; some courses are especially valuable for particular
types of positions in industry, etc.)
Students should also check with their undergraduate colleges (Cook,
Douglass, Livingston, Rutgers, University) to make sure they
are making progress to satisfy their other degree requirements.
If you have questions concerning transfer credits, prerequisite
overrides, admission to the major, etc., please check with
your undergraduate college first to get the proper forms,
and then contact the departmental secretary, Diana Creighton (445-2001),
to have them processed by the department.
