General: Improved software development techniques, especially for Information Systems. Since IS maintain models of some aspect of reality that can be inspected and modified through programs, my approach is often based on the use of knowledge representation and reasoning techniques.
Current: Conceptual modeling, especially using Description Logics. Model management: what is a model? what are relationships/mappings between models? how to integrate models? Special-purpose description logics (e.g., for goals) or special operators (e.g., similarity)
