Rutgers University Department of Computer Science

I am currently a member in good standing at the Laboratory for Computer Science Research on the Busch campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. I am responsible for the undergraduate computing services for the Department of Computer Science. That means I act as course support for technology, as Sys Admin for the various undergraduate servers, run some special LCSR services like Handin and the VOSlab, and work on other special projects as they come down the pike.
Some of the special projects have included developing the Freestuff website, a guide for the students to use to outfit their laptops or desktops with free software to get ready for their coursework. As gaming is one of my areas of interest (see my skool page) I am also lucky enough to be on the University Second Life steering committee, a group of IT staff at Rutgers tasked with helping to develop Rutgers Island and trying to encourage faculty to use Second Life for coursework. Being a Sun certified Java programmer, I have also given Workshops on Java and Eclipse over the years.

I still maintain the old site I used as a homepage when I was a consultant. Old tutorials and all my favorite links are here. Click the window for a peek...
