FourierNet Project |
The FourierNet Project is investigating novel techniques for supporting network services in dense ad-hoc networks. The key idea is to curve-centric strategy that forwards packets along continuous trajectories. As we move from sparse networks to dense networks, it is only natural to move away from a discrete view of route path to a continuous view of route path. Forwarding along continuous trajectories or curve-centric routing has a number of interesting properties that make it ideal for supporting network services in dense networks such as embedded networks and disposable networks.

Our paper, the first in a series, on this topic "routing on a curve", will appear in the first workshop on Hot Topics in Networks (Hotnets-I) to be held in Princeton, NJ, October 28-29, 2002.
The second paper is on an Ad-hoc positioning system using AoA, which will appear in IEEE INFOCOM 2003, San Francisco, CA

of packet routing along trajectories. We have completed the actual
implementation of
trajectory based forwarding on the motes. See the
pictures of packet
routing along lines on a mica/mote network. The user interface is used to
specify the trajectory and other parameters. The motes with the LED `ON' actually forward the packets.
