Requirements for the B.A. in Computer Science
The B.A. Degree in Computer Science has the following
requirements:
- Seven required courses in computer science:
01:198:111,
112,
113,
205,
206,
211, and
344.
- Three required courses in mathematics: 01:640:151-152 plus
a third 3- or 4-credit mathematics course at the 200 or above level
(this course must be prerequisite to a CS (198:xxx) course).
- Four electives from a designated list
of courses in computer science and related disciplines. At
least two of the four electives must be taken in the Department of
Computer Science.
- No more than one grade of D can be accepted in the courses
required for the major.
- A minimum of seven courses must be taken in the New Brunswick
Department of Computer Science. (These courses must be 01:198:xxx.)
These requirements can be satisfied with 51-55 credit hours (depending
on whether 3 or 4 credit electives are taken.) See also the section
