The Computer
Science Mail System allows a user to share their mailboxes with other
users on the same server without giving up username and password of the
mail account. This feature is very useful for users who work in a
group without cluttering individual user's mailboxes with duplicate messages.
Below you will find a description on how to access a shared mailboxes.
All the steps described below are done using the webmail
interface at
http://dragon.rutgers.edu.
Accessing Shared Mailbox (Folder)
To access a Shared Mailbox (folder) named
Purchases shared by user:
buyers, follow these steps:
1. Login using the web interface at
http://dragon.rutgers.edu.

2. Once logged in, click on
Settings then click on
Folders. A Window as shown in Figure 1 will appear.
3. Under
Folder Aliases box, enter:
AliasName: Buyers-Purchases ( this can be any name you like to call the shared mailbox)
FolderName: ~buyers/Purchases (this says, Folder name Purchases from the user namedviewv: buyers)
4. Under
Folder Subscription box, enter:
Buyers-Purchases ( this has to be the same name as in the AliasName above.)
5. Click
UPDATE to save the settings.
6. Click on
Folders and you will now see
Buyers-Purchases mailbox in your folder list. Once access is established, users will be able to see these folders
from the webmail interface and from any imap mail client they use such
as Thunderbird, Outlook Express.
