Title: 2ND QUARTERLY R&D STATUS REPORT Author: Saul Amarel Date: April, 1994 Abstract: Thsi report covers the second quarter of the "Hypercomputing and Design" (HPCD) project. Activities initiated during the previous period of the project have gained additional momentum - in terms of group building, strengthening of collaborative links, a better definition of planned research directions, the identification of new research opportunities, and also in terms of specific results. Of special note is the growth/strengthening of collaborative links between investigators from various disciplines and organizational affiliations - each bringing adifferent viewpoint and different methods and tools to the handling of the same research problem. This is clearly in line with the type of synergy and leverage that we believe is needed for making serious progress in HPC and in its application to complex science-based engineering design.
