DIRECTIONS to Hill Center and Core building, Rutgers University by CAR or TRAIN 1. By car. >From New Jersey Turnpike: Exit the Turnpike at New Brunswick (Exit 9). Get on Route 18 headed toward New Brunswick. Road signs will label this route as 18 North or West. >From US 1: Exit from US 1 onto 18 North (some signs will say West). Once on Route 18 North (or West): Pass through 2 traffic lights. Once past the second light, keep as far left as possible (i.e. do not exit). About one mile from the second light you'll cross the Raritan River, and come to a third light. Continue through this light. You will be on Metlar's Lane. Take the second left off Metlar's Lane onto Brett Road. Follow Brett Road until it empties into a parking lot (about .25 mi.). Hill Center is the 7 story dark red or brown brick cantilevered building at the end of this lot. > from Highway 287: Take Exit 5 for "Highland Park/Bound Brook." At the end of the exit ramp, turn RIGHT onto River Road. Follow River Road for 3.5 miles to Metlars Lane (FIFTH traffic light) and turn LEFT onto Metlars Lane. Take the SECOND LEFT off Metlars Lane onto Brett Road. Continue on Brett Road, near the end it bears left. At this point you will see the CoRE Building - the large, modern, 7-floor building adjacent to the parking lot. If you need a parking pass, proceed to Rm 318 (x5-2380) to obtain a parking pass. Computer Science Department faculty offices are on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Hill Center and the CoRE Building. The department office is in Hill 390. 2. By Train from NYC. Take the NJ Transit from Penn. Station to New Brunswick. Then either take a taxi to the Hill Center (a few dollars) or take a free bus there. The bus stop is opposite Scott Hall about 2 and a half blocks from the New Brunswick Train Station. Starting at the station, exit down the steps to the street level and turn right onto Easton Ave. Walk one block to an intersection with a light. Make a right, walk one block, and take the next left. Walk one block along College Ave., cross the street and stop at the bus stop just beyond the parking lot. Take the A bus (it will have a sign `College Ave., Busch....' on the front). (Avoid taking the H bus, which will also say `College Ave., Busch....'.) Get off at the Hill Center.
