DCS Academic Integrity Policy

Annual Renewal Procedures

To access CS resources users must acknowledge the Department of Computer Science Academic Integrity Policy once each academic year (i.e., September through August).  Access to general purpose University resources are not affected by this policy.

Computer Science Email and account resource deadlines

Fall Semester: October 1st

In the fall, users will be allowed to use all CS resources until October 1st. Users will be reminded by email that they must acknowledge the AI policy or resources will be disabled. Usage of CS resources after October 1st requires the user to acknowledge the AI policy. Once acknowledged, resources will be available until the next fall. Resources include, but are not limited to, CS email, undergraduate (e.g., remus), iLab (e.g., cereal), and graduate (e.g., paul) machines.

Spring Semester: February 15th

In the spring, users will be allowed to use all CS resources until February 15th.  As with the fall, users will be reminded that they must acknowledge the AI policy or resources will be disabled. Usage of CS resources after February 15 requires that a user has acknowledge the AI policy in the current academic year (i.e., if a user acknowledged the policy in the fall he need not acknowledge it again in the spring).

Handin Grace period: four days after first use

Within an academic year (i.e., September through August) users will be allowed to make initial submissions to the Computer Science on-line homework submission system, Handin. After a user makes his initial submission he will be allowed to submit work for the next four days. If he does not acknowledge the AI policy within this four day grace period, Handin will reject submissions from the user until the AI policy is acknowledged. When a user attempts to submit to handin he will be reminded that the AI policy must be acknowledge.
