The ACM SIGPLAN 1999 Conference on Programming Language Design and Implementation (PLDI'99) will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, May 1-4, 1999 as part of the Federated Computing Research Conference (FCRC'99) . ACM SIGSOFT is an in cooperation sponsor of PLDI'99.
PLDI'99 will feature conference papers, tutorials, an industrial panel, a student poster session, and a tutorial travel support program for faculty at schools with primarily minority and/or women populations. The 1998 ACM SIGPLAN Programming Language Achievement Award and the 1998 ACM SIGPLAN Distinguished Service Award will be presented at a joint reception with PPOPP'99 on Monday, May 3, 1999. PPOPP'99 registrants also are cordially invited to attend the PLDI'99 Industrial Panel from 4:00-5:00pm on Monday, May 3rd, 1999.

now covers three full days, including FCRC'99 daily plenary speakers and
the scheduling of the industrial panel
within the technical program. Student authors are encouraged to
consider applying for possible travel support from ACM SIGPLAN PAC . There will be a two-track,
one day tutorial program on May 1, 1999.
PLDI'99 is proud to announce the availability of travel grants
for faculty from colleges with high female and/or minority enrollment
to attend the PLDI'99 tutorials and conference. These grants are
sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), Compaq Research,
and ACM SIGPLAN.
The grants will cover travel and accommodation expenses up to $1000,
plus the tutorial and conference registration.

from 6:00-7:30pm. The final program
