Interaction capture is the combination of motion capture and force capture. Contact forces are important because physical contact creates a coupled system where the forces are key to understanding the system behaviour and stability.  Our work on interaction capture and synthesis can be found here.  The purpose of this web site is to further research in this direction by making our data available to others.  Inspired by the CMU Motion Capture Database, we envision the eventual creation of a searchable database of captured interaction.

The collection of the data in this repository was supported by NSF grants IIS-0308157, ITR 0205671, and EIA-02115887. Any opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this material are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect the views of the National Science Foundation.

We encourage you to use this data in your research. If you do, we require only that you add the following text to the acknowledgments section of publications that use the data, and inform us by email.

The data used in this project was obtained from the Interaction Capture repository (http://www.interactioncapture.org/) created with funding from NSF IIS-0308157, ITR 0205671, and EIA-02115887.
