Operation: Online Colloquia System

Introduction
The online colloquia system provides a way to display and enter information about colloquia, thesis defenses, qualifying exams, research talks, and talks by distinguished speakers. The system also provides historical data about prior events. In addition, an RSS feed is provided so users may subscirbe to a listing of the latest talks, colloquia, etc.

Usage Guides
The CS colloquia environment manages all colloquia functions. It
  • provides a form based entry system by which staff enter and edit colloquium announcements,
  • mantains a repository of past and future colloquia,
  • exports colloquia information as an RSS feed,
  • enables the rendering of scheduled colloquia on the CS home page, and
  • automatically notifies eveyone@cs about upcoming colloquium.

Entering a new Colloquium

  1. From the CS home page, select Colloquia under the News & Events Tab
  2. Login using the button on the right hand side of the lower banner
  3. Select Add a new Colloquium. This is available on the top and bottom of the page.
  4. Fill in the Colloquia form being sure to indicate under Subject Area if this colloquium would be of interest to the CBIM or AI commnity
  5. Select Preview Colloqium
  6. Under Notification Options specifiy the desired schedule
  7. If changes to the announcment are required select Make changes, otherwise select Save

Editing an existing Colloquium

  1. From the CS home page, select Colloquia under the News & Events Tab
  2. Login using the button on the right hand side of the lower banner
  3. Select Edit for the colloquia you wish to update.
  4. Following steps 4 through 7 under Entering a new Colloquium

Deleting an existing Colloquium

  1. From the CS home page, select Colloquia under the News & Events Tab
  2. Login using the button on the right hand side of the lower banner
  3. Select Delete for the colloquia you wish to update.
