LCSR operations runs 24x7x52 which includes both semesters and all breaks. Help Desk Operators are expected to work a minimum of 6 to 8 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, with more hours per week likely available depending on scheduling and federal funding. New hires must work a majority of their time between 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday to allow for training. Additional hours per week may be worked over winter and summer break. Hours are flexible, and based on each students schedule of classes. |

on the job. Guided instruction will be given, but the new hire must be able to

| This position is available only to Federal Work Study applicants. Applicants MUST be enrolled full-time in Rutgers University to apply. Applicants do not need to be Computer Science majors. Students from other disciplines are encouraged to apply as well. Consideration for this position can be given only to those students who will have student status for at least 2 full semesters, after training. ALL freshmen, sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply. | |

The Laboratory for Computer Science Research (LCSR) is currently looking for Help Desk Operators. This position will be working primarily with the Department of Computer Science (DCS) Faculty, Undergraduate and Graduate instructional facilities. LCSR also provides some computing support to the Math and DIMACS Departments. At LCSR, the Help Desk Operator Position is divided amongst operations and user support. Operations support relates to actual computer operations such as system backups, file restores and printer support. User support consists primarily of responding to "help" mail and calls from users, but also includes any reasonable means available to resolve users problems.
In the future, Windows operating systems tasks may also become relevant. |
