Important Construction Information in the Rutgers University Area:
Rutgers University is in the middle of a major road construction project (from 2002 until approximately 2010), redesigning the roadways between the College Avenue Campus, the Busch Campus, and the surrounding areas. Please watch the following web site for details and changed traffic patterns:
Follow Route 18 North (or West: signs differ, but mean the same) to New Brunswick.
Proceed over the Raritan River on the John Lynch Bridge.
Take the first exit for Campus Road - Busch Campus.
Follow this road through the various curves until the road turns into one lane. From here, you will come to a traffic circle. You will travel approx. 40 degrees around the circle and exit onto Bartholomew Road (the first exit you come to going through the circle).
You will come to a four way stop sign at the intersection of Bartholomew and Brett Roads.
Make a left at the 4-way stop sign on to Brett Road.
Brett Road will go up a short hill then curve to the left. After the curve the road will straighten and you will come to a stop sign at the entrance to a parking lot. There is a sign at the entrance that identifies it as lot 64. The CoRE Building (seven story dark brown brick structure) will be on your right at the far end of the parking lot. Please park in lot 64 and obtain a parking permit from Computer Science staff upon arrival. (Parking restrictions are strictly enforced).
From Route 1 or NJ Turnpike (Exit 9):
Exit toward the right onto Route 18 North and follow directions as above.
FromGarden State Parkway (northbound or southbound)
oExit GS Parkaway at Exit 129 for the New Jersey Turnpike.

Follow Metlars Lane to the first traffic light, this will be at a "T"-intersection. Turn left at this "T"-intersection to continue on Metlars Lane.
Continue on Metlars through the first traffic light. You will soon see a florist on the right. Immediately before the next traffic light the road will split to the right with Metlars Lane following the split off to the right. Follow this split.
At the next traffic light, turn right (you can only go left or right at this light). Bear left up and over a ramp
Go straight through the intersection at the next traffic light. This puts you onto Davidson Road.

Once you park in lot 64 go to the Hill center behind CoRE building and get a parking permit for the dashboard. Your event coordinator may have obtained this for you prior to your arrival, so check with him/her.
CoRE is a 7 story dark brown brick building adjacent to the lots. Hill Center is attached to the CoRE building on the 3rd floor and the Computer Science offices are mainly located on this floor in both buildings.
BY AIR:
We recommend air travel to the Newark, New Jersey International Airport (EWR). Kennedy (JFK) and LaGuardia (LGA), the other New York airports are also used, but they add at least two hours travel time and considerable expense.
From Newark Airport to Rutgers or the Holiday Inn:
The NJTransitNortheast Corridor Line now offers convenient train service from Newark International Airport to Metropark, New Brunswick, Princeton Junction, and other stations.
Going directly to the Holiday Inn Hotel from Newark Airport, take the Monorail to the train station and buy a ticket to Edison. You should get off at the Edison Station, which is on Stelton/Plainfield Road and take a taxi to the hotel. This will save you time and reduce the taxi fare.
Coming directly toRutgers Computer Science Dept. from Newark Airport, take the Monorail to the train station and buy a ticket to New Brunswick. You should get off at the New Brunswick train station and take a taxi to the CoRE building Busch Campus. This will save you time and reduce the taxi fare.
State Shuttle is a shared van service. Call 800-427-3207 (US), 732-542-6505, or 973-729-0030 to make a reservation. Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance and require a credit card. Cost is $45.00 per person each way between the Holiday Inn and Newark Airport. Between Rutgers and Newark Airport, cost is $40.00 (each additional person in the same group will be charged $10.00 so planning groups in advance is useful. Prices do not include tolls and tips.)
To Rutgers: ask for Busch Campus of Rutgers University; located in Piscataway. Ask the driver to enter on Metlars Lane. See Driving.
To Holiday Inn: Ask the driver for the Holiday Inn on Stelton Ave in South Plainfield / Piscataway. It is 200 yards south of I-287.
