APS Releases

****NOTE***: Make sure you have the latest version of TinyOS from CVS and the latest version of Nesc

Below is a rough outline of our development schedule:

APS Ranging Release (v.1.3) Includes refinements such as probabilitic sending, averaged correction factors, radio power control.

APS Ranging Release (v.1.2) - This release builds upon the previous release by allowing Ranging modules to be plugged in and then used for the DV_DISTANCE algorithm (which is implemented in this release). In order to use this release with Vanderbilt's ranging code, please first download their code first from the CVS tree under minitasks/02/vu, and extract the tar in the top level directory (above the minitasks dir). DV_HOPS hop mechanism has been ported to a Ranging module. Of particular interest is the Ranging and SubRanging interfaces we have implemented. We hope these will become standard in all ranging modules.

API Conforming Release (v.1.1) - Affectionately dubbed v. 1.1, this release conforms as best as it can to the localization API. We separated the landmark and nonlandmark codebase, as well as significantly reduced bandwidth usage. There were also a slew of minor changes. DV_HOP is still the only implemented version of APS, but adding functionality for DV_DISTANCE should be trivial, and will be included in the next release. For more detailed explanations, see the documentation. Once again, unpack tar in the highest level of your tos distribution.

Initial Release (v.1.0) - The barebones essential core of APS. This version is a TinyOS 1.0 working version of APS with few changes from the last TinyOS 0.6 version. DV_HOP is the only algoritm currently implemented. The files have been condensed and cleansed. All functionality is contained within the main APS module. Conformation to the api has not been implemented yet. Both landmarks (anchor) and aps nodes (non-anchors) share the same code base. We hope to in later revisions to separate out landmark code (results in smaller footprint). Unpack tar in the highest level of your tos distribution.

APS Tools

We have written a set of tools to be used in conjunction with the APS nodes above
NEW VERSION MoteViewer GUI! All in one package
Both the command line tools and moteviewer gui in one package. Unpack the tar in $TOSDIR/tools/java/net/tinyos/.
Download All in One (34.6 KB tar.gz)

Command line Tools - Java tools compiled and source. Includes a Query command line tool and a beacon listener that dumps beacons to screen. Unpack the tar in the highest level of your tos distribution
Download 1.0 (for use with APS v. 1.0-1.1) (5.6 KB tar.gz)
Download 1.2 (for use with APS v. 1.2) (7.4 KB tar.gz)| Readme (2.1 KB text)

MoteViewer GUI - a Mote visualization tool written in java. Works in conjunction with Command line tools above. You must have both packages in order for this to work. Unpack the tar in the highest level of your tos distribution.
Download 1.0 (for use with APS Commandline tools 1.2) (30.1 KB tar.gz)| Readme (2.3 KB text)
