Rutgers University DCIS Colloquium Date: Monday, February 9, 2004 Time: 11:00 AM Location: CoRE Building room 301, Busch Campus, Rutgers University
Abstract: This talk consists of two parts. In the first part I will introduce the concept of Coordinated Atomic (CA) actions which has been recently developed at University of Newcastle. CA actions is a unified scheme for coordinating complex activities and supporting error recovery between multiple interacting components, which combines and builds on existing work on conversations (atomic actions) and ACID transactions. The second part of the talk will describe our ongoing work on employing this mechanism in developing complex Web applications to improve their dependability. http://www.cs.ncl.ac.uk/people/alexander.romanovsky/home.formal/
