Fall 2009 - Spring 2010
Undergraduate:
- COURSES OFFERED
- In Fall 2009, CS 442 will be Introduction to Imaging and Multimedia, taught by Professor Elgammal.
- In Spring 2010, CS 442 will be Data Mining: Searching for Gold in Massive Data Sets, taught by Professor Imielinski.
- In Spring 2010, CS 443 will be Probabilistic Algorithms, taught by Professor Steiger.
- The above are 4 credit courses, and can be counted as CS electives.
- In addition, the following "occasional" courses are likely to be offered in Spring 2010: CS 452 (Professor Farach-Colton) and CS 405 (Professor Kulikowski). Note: 198:405 does not count as a CS elective.
- COURSES NOT OFFERED
- As previously announced by email, there is no plan to offer 198:431 in the Spring 2010 semester because of low expected enrollment. (Those few majors who are seniors and cannot take it this Fall, please contact Professor Borgida.)
- Also not offered in the Spring, due to budget constraints, is 198:417.
Fall 2008 - Spring 2009
Undergraduate:
- In Spring 2009, CS 442, Topics in Computer Science, will be Systems Aspects of Information Management, taught by Professor Amelie Marian. This is a 4 credit course, and can serve as a CS elective for the CS major and minor.
- Read about the new CS honors program!
- CS 431, Software Engineering, will not be offered in Spring 2009.
Graduate:
- One of the seminars this Spring (198:671) will be a course on Computer Security, taught by Professor Vinod Ganapathy. (This course is scheduled to become a regular graduate course in the department in future years.)
Fall 2007 - Spring 2008
Undergraduate:
- There are three new courses offered in the spring as Topics in CS (442/443/444). Each of these courses can serve as a CS elective for the CS major and minor. Each of these courses is 4 credits (ignore the "BA" on the schedule). Click on the course name to find out more details.
