Pradip Hari appointed CASTL Graduate Student Fellow for 2008-2009

DCS is proud to announce that Pradip Hari has been named a CASTL Graduate Student Fellow for the academic year 2008-2009. Besides co-ordinating CS111 for the department, Pradip also teaches CS112 and co-leads the Rutgers Emerging Scholars in CS with Prof Barbara Ryder.  He also is a researcher in the EEL Lab under the direction of Prof Uli Kremer.

The primary focus of the CASTL program at Rutgers is to enhance the pedagogical experience of graduate students as they prepare for the professoriate.  To that end, four grad students are appointed CASTL Fellows each year. Fellows present sessions on pedagogical issues to fellow grad students, and are recognized as campus leaders in teaching. They also receive a small monetary award.

Rutgers was selected two years ago to be a member institution in  the Leadership Program of the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) sponsored by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
