Osmos, an ambient video game co-developed by DCS faculty member Andrew Nealen, wins the D2D Vision Award at the 2009 Independent Games Festival

DCS is proud to announce that faculty member Andrew Nealen, together with his colleagues from Hemisphere Games, have received the D2D Vision Award at the 2009 Independent Games Festival for their work on the ambient video game Osmos. The awards ceremony was held on March 25th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco as part of the 2009 Game Developers Conference. Osmos was nominated for three other IGF awards, which resulted in digital distribution deals with Steam and Direct2Drive. "The D2D Vision Award resembles a major boost for our endeavors to bring innovative, physics-based gameplay to a wider audience, and furthermore, helps us integrate these ideas more tightly into our curriculum and research."

Congratulations, Andy!
