Designer's Interface Overview

The designer's interface is a framework to standardize repeated execution of simulators. It acts as an intermediary between information servers (simulators) and clients (e.g. optimizers).

Clients are compiled as part of the interface, while servers are called as standalone processes. The interface reads specification files for the client and server (the files are checked for consistency), then uses this information to coordinate communication.

Each run of the designer's interface is controlled by a startup file. The startup file specifies the client and server for that particular run, as well as naming variables and setting operational parameters.
